SEPTEMBER 11th

Jamie Wyeth would like to recognize the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania and the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland, Maine for their tireless efforts to promote and sell reproductions of the painting, "September 11th." The sales of the reproduction raised more than $100,000 for the 911 Children's Fund. In addition, we thank the Phillips Auction House in New York City for arranging for the sale of the original painting which was auctioned off in November, 2001. The $400,000 raised from that sale was donated to the Twin Towers Fund.

FOG BOUND ISLAND

Sheet: 29" x 24"
Image: 25" x 19"

Maine lobstermen fished the rugged, cold and sometimes fogbound waters of the North Atlantic in open wooden dories up until the mid 1930s when they turned to the traditional lobster boat which is now in use. This reproduction captures the light and mood of an offshore island as it finds itself enveloped in fog.
